Major Event Security

The seminar by PCOL Rex Arwin Malimban stressed the importance of VIP Security in important events, such as the lighting of the giant star in the Philippine National Academy. As cadets of the PNPA and future police officers, it is essential to prioritize the security of VIPs because it is crucial to maintaining law and order in society. VIP protection is a critical responsibility of the police, as these people frequently hold positions of power and influence vital to the functioning of the government and other institutions.

Ensuring the safety of VIPs also helps prevent individuals or groups from using violence or other means to harm them or disrupt the political or social order. Furthermore, providing adequate security for VIPs is essential for their safety, as they may be more vulnerable to threats due to their visibility and public profile.

As future police officers, you will be responsible for ensuring that VIPs are safe from potential threats and can carry out their duties without fear of harm. For this, extremely high levels of professionalism, precision, and dedication to upholding the law and public safety are needed.

PCOL Malimban also stated several courses of action we cadets could take when an unknown threat suddenly occurred. He gave an example, such as the possible scenario of an undetected bomb exploding during the height of an event, leading to multiple casualties, injuries, and even death. He gave us a detailed and concise list of actions to take, such as having knowledge of the nearest medical services and the number of casualties.

As future police officers, it is essential to continuously improve security to protect the public and maintain law and order. This can involve various strategies and approaches, including implementing new technologies, training officers in the latest tactics and techniques, and working with other agencies and organizations to identify and address potential security threats.

Improving security can also involve gathering and analyzing data to identify patterns and trends that can help predict and prevent crime.[1] This can include using data analytics and other tools to track and analyze crime data and working with other agencies and organizations to share information and intelligence. By continuously improving security, future police officers can help keep the public safe and maintain order in society. This seminar of PCOL. Malimban will help us, first-class cadets, in preparation for being future police officers in ensuring not only the security of VIPs but also society and other citizens.
